Vinted Shoppers Voice Displeasure Regarding Size Modifications

Shoppers are voicing their frustration after an update resulted in listings displaying inaccurate size information.

The second-hand shopping app has altered its sizing categories for female and kids' apparel without notifying all users about the change.

Online Platforms Response

Countless users and merchants are posting online claiming that product pages now present a modified sizing category versus the original listing as a result of the reclassification.

Vinted explained the new system was more in line with similar services.

It has advised users to check their listings and adjust the sizing manually when needed, causing user dissatisfaction.

Measurement Approach Changes

Earlier, the sizes had both a single numeric size and a letter, such as S/8 or M/10.

The updated approach includes a letter with a size spectrum such as S/UK 8-10.

With some products, the size labels have been reassigned - such as a large size was formerly size 12 but is now a UK 16-18.

User Accounts

Frankie Bridger, who makes TikTok content about plus-size fashion, explained the modification "makes transactions more difficult".

"Few clothing companies classify XL as 20-22," as the platform currently indicates.

Another user, located in Scotland, said garments she listed featuring size 14 markings were showing in the marketplace as measurements 20-22.

"If anyone [who is] size 20-22 buys them they will likely be quite upset," she explained.

Necessary Adjustments

Charlotte Lunn, based in Derby, stated she felt frustrated by the change as she had to manually change the sizes on "every single listing".

"Personally, this is quite irritating, since I have chronic health issues and selling on Vinted has been paramount for me since losing part of my income," she said.

Marketplace Information

The app has more than 100 million shoppers, with 18 million British users.

It has proved a popular alternative compared to resale services such as eBay and Depop.

This is not the initial instance when a surprising modification to the app has proved unpopular: previously, Vinted reversed a change concerning shipment methods after backlash from users.
